He should have speccd it with the open frame option!I believe @Bald Rick had similar issues with his 420.... Last I seen on here it was still using the permanent air con option.... Definitely the cheapest way forward....
There looks to be second hand ones on eBay with glass for Ā£750ish.
Boom side glass? You gogs in the habit of headbutting it, as I canāt honestly see a way to break it, never managed it on the Manitou.I have recently learnt that JCB have put an electric wire in the boom side glass. If you break it, the machine shuts down and is unusable.
Now whilst I sort of understand the safety aspect ā¦ which chuffing moron thought that was a good idea? Do they not realise that dairy farmers have infinite ways of destroying glass?
Jeez

NFU mutual, for all the bashing that they get on here have been decent for glass coverCan you not claim on your insurance?
I think I claimed when I carried out a door delete on my old 310s.
A heavy waterproof coat and a hat a much cheaper optionBTW, new door for a loadall is north of Ā£2k fitted from a dealer.
Ask me how I know ā¦

I often wonder if engineers come out in a cold sweat when thinking of their designs being abused by dairy farmers.I have recently learnt that JCB have put an electric wire in the boom side glass. If you break it, the machine shuts down and is unusable.

Yes I could but trying not too as itās amazing how often we end up with a little claim here and there. The bonnet has been cracked too so it maybe a case of having to inspect it properly. Can you not claim on your insurance?

If they even had a modicum of sense, they'd give a machine to a dairy farmer for six months with the instruction to find any faults.
I'd really like to meet the wally who thought it was a good idea to locate the fuel filler on a skid just behind the offside rear wheel ....
If they engineered the kit strong enough to deal with dairy farmers, no one could ever afford to buy them....
Most issues arent about strength, its location of fillers/filters, routing of harnesses and pipework with sensible joints so when you do have to do something you dont have to strip half the machine down for something simple. Engineers should be thrown out in the field in a mechanics van for a few years before being let loose with a pencilIf they engineered the kit strong enough to deal with dairy farmers, no one could ever afford to buy them....
But by the looks of that filler cap doesn't come off that often.....They must have done the research into the fuel efficiency wellGood Point ........ seems us dairy boys have to carry the schoffel gillet & pink trousers wearing arable boys
Such is the burden of the proper working farmer
