Need some suggestions.
Re: JCB 320S boom not extending or retracting on/off fault

The boom sometimes refuses to extend, especially after start up. If you restart it sometimes fixes it. If that fails, if you move locking pins it may start working again and other times nothing makes it work then randomly it starts to work again.

It had this fault when we purchased it 12 months ago (2nd hand 2014) but always sorted itself if you waited a few seconds after start up before you touched anything. got worse recently.

Any thoughts where to start?

Thanks 👍 will give it a try in the morning along with the other suggestion above. If the blade does the trick - what is at fault ?
Mine has an issue with the load sensor and boom angle sensor. Ours has a sensor on the axle and another at the back of the boom. I sometimes have to go through re calibration procedure to set it back up. If one sensor goes it can send the whole lot haywire. So many fault codes, that you can get many fault codes coming up sometimes missing the actual fault you have got. Different drivers so I’m not sure what causes it.
Does your boom extend a couple of inches and stop?

No it doesn’t move at all. Always thought I was too impatient when I tried to pull away before it had chance to do its stuff as it seemed to be ok once started and you touched nothing for at least 5 seconds.

good machine otherwise, big jump from Teleram 3, even managed to bend a pallet fork being silly !

No further forward with mine other than if boom is working it will be fine all day as long as you don’t turn engine off, then the retract/extend will stop working. This will happen if it’s been 5 hours running or 10 minutes??

Put a mower blade over the magnets
