Your getting confused with the Project 8/12 and the 7. The 8 and 12 had the curved rear side windows and the 7 was straight cut. The 7 had white, black and grey cabs. The cabs symboled a kind of facelift where they improved the machine as such

I thought the early 3CX was a project 6?

What happened the first 5, I wonder ....................
The six might be the black cab with no hub reduction on the back, but that's a guess ............

Yeah true, but this one needed going right over it. It needed a lot just to get it moving correctly again and the money didn't warrant the work needed for the machine

Yes all 360's now, they are a thing of the past for utilities, but have their place.
Cheap digging compared to a 360 that you can pull with a van ...........

is there much work done by these jcb,s now ? They used to be a common site besides the roads doing waterboard work etc. Now they all seem to use small 360 machines .
Owner driver guy here changes his back actor every couple of years ,,wheeled machine is quicker and handier for him as hes often in the oil refinery 2 days a week ,building sites ,farm jobs ,,had both JCB and Cat ,cat was nothing but trouble and Jcb dont fair much better

Cheers Lincs Lass.

I will try and find that one.

We always found area to be very handy. We wish we never sold it, replaced with a 13t volvo slew and had a 3 t and 8t slew as well. The 3cx was much easier to get to s job, could do more tasks and found to be a more reliable machine.
