I can understand the hardened JD mindset- I was one once. Everything to hand, great engines, visibility, could get mine anywhere etc etc etc but the three wheel drive was an issue (probably solved now to be fair- haven't tried in recent years) and lastly the cab interior just hasn't kept up with the times. There is no space for fudging anything. Where does my bag go...errr......?
What you operating now

I run 2 4220s, but mainly on transport work, fertilising etc, and not high hours, (both about 2000) but no major problems so far.
I would say if you are doing a lot of land work then a normal tractor would be a better bet due to the larger rear tyres, but otherwise I would say they are great due to the suspension and balance.
We also run a 7 year old 936 which is the dogs whatsits, but I would still take the 4220 for a road trip.

You’re well kitted up then! 2 4220, a 936 and 2 crawlers

Watch this. Looks a fantastic tractor and one I would be proud to own or drive.

a gutless 6820 i think it was.... just never fancied one esp after that.
were a right odd bunch tho.
Now got the choice of two Massey Dealers both further away than previous one.
All the 6 series with an 8 in were pretty numb things we've a 6810 and it's not very impressive and had a 20 series as well and was the same. From the last 21 yrs of JD the 6820 has been the worst

Was plenty of 6830 around here back in the day. All were far from numb but then the dealer normally sorted that pre delivery

Found it very illogical compared to Deere and also underpowered and underweight just generally underwhelming really.

Not everyone is a fendt fanboy I'd take a new Holland or a case before 1

Also even if it was the best thing since sliced bread the dealer would put us off having 1.

I was Deere for 25 years and still have a 6130r but you’d struggle to persuade me to buy one again after running a 720 for 10 months now,gen 6 cab on mine though and I think it’s streets ahead in terms of operator friendless compared to the previous fendt screen/armrest.
And they seem To be cheaper than Deere at the minute like for like

Again, they are the benchmark machine and I can understand why so many guys like them but wonder if they have kept up in the cab department- everyone does a joystick with the usual functions on it if you spec them.

I should start a youtube channel and compare them all. Fudged though because 'Ollys farm' and 'Ollyblogs' are both already taken.

How much space is there in the new Fendt cab? I seem to remember the gen 5 having a lot of space around the seat.
