JCB 434 starting problems

We've got a new to us 2012 JCB 434s that's been on the pit all day, it was switched off for tea and now won't start. It turns over but won't fire. The driver has done the usual of checking fuses, relays and fuel but no joy.

I'm not with the machine but I'm wondering if anyone has had similar issues I can pass onto him to check?

If it has a stop solenoid on the injection pump, I'd check that it's getting 12 volts . When you turn on the ignition you should hear the solenoid click.
No click - no start ?

I assume it'll be a common rail engine.

Crank sensor would be the easy fix.

You could try loosening an injector pipe to see if it builds rail pressure whilst cranking.

Wants plugging in and diagnosing properly really.

Yes, common rail as far as I'm aware. Crank sensor is a good shout but not easy to test on site.

Once it had been left a bit it started and ran ok, possibly heat related. We will give the dealer it came from a ring tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestions [emoji106]
