Manitou wise the JCB sits between the 625 and the 629 I think. When I had a demo of jcb 526, I had a manitou 629 on demo too. Not too sure on merlos.

Merlo it'd be 33.7. The Merlo would be much higher spec in most areas, and similar price to a 526.

Merlo do a 27.6 but its only available with 75hp and small wheels so not suited to a lot of ag applications sadly.

That's what I thought will need to work out dimensions

Manitou are bringing out a 630. There was one at the Highland show which was about the first one in the country. Machines are supposed to be with dealers August/September. This is available with either hydro or Torque convertor at the same price and is due to demand from the Merlo 326 size of machine. 3t to 6m

They will sell plenty of them to disgruntled merlo users if they are any good. I'll be getting a demo definitely.

No think manitou 629 is 5.5metres. But it is 2.9tons.

Its being discontinued soon for the new mlt 630 which is side engined and will have more reach and lift.

The 629 was discontinued about 6 months ago, I was trying to buy one but the dealer had sold the last one he had. They said Manitou stopped making them end of 2016.
