JCB 528 transmission

hi, my recently purchased 528s makes a loud noise when it is freewheeling at high speed. Sounds to me like a bearing or differential problem.

Just wondered if anyone else has had any problems similar to mine or if someone had any ideas what it might be.

Hopefully it is not going to cost me a fortune.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Leo

What sort of noise?

I'd try dropping the oils in the axles final drives and transmission and see what falls out.

If no bearings or bits of gears drop in the can, then some new fluids might quiet it down. Brake lining contamination in the axles can make them whine.

Mind you, JCB axles and whining - TADT,S.

Its permanent four wheel drive eith no switch.

Its like a loud rumble... sounds to me like a uj but they all seem tight and are well greased. Though on the back axle the half shafts do move side to side a bit maybe somethings not right in there!

Thankyou

Have the cleats on the tyres worn unevenly or is the tracking out? My SP sprayer has one side of the chevrons worn off and rumbles and judders on the road at certain speeds.

I have a 528 that isn't driving great takes 4 to seconds to move after engaging forward or reverse on shuttle. And after driving a while gets slows right down even when reving hard. After about 30 mins of this it won't move atall. Afters it's sat a while it goes fine again. Any ideas
