JCB 530-70 continuous hydraulic flow

Hello,
I have a JCB 530-70 ' 03plate and I want to put a timber trailer on it, so I can pick up and move wood around the yard. However to operate the spools you need to press and hold a button. I would like to have a continuous flow so I can operate the timber trailer out on the platform. I wondered whether anyone had done anything like this before?

Remember if its a top spec model with rexroth piston pump it will be a closed hydraulic system and you will need a suitable valve block on your trailer crane to use it. Same as if you put it on a tractor with a closed system.

It would be a good idea to find out what flow and pressure the timber crane require to operate it. Then is if you JCB hyd system is suitable.

It has a free flow return which is the easy bit to put it back in the tank.
I can check the flow, but it should be sufficient it's not a very big crane. It will just go a bit slower

I am thinking I could take the wire out of the joystick and install a switch parallel in the circuit.
Thoughts.

I did exactly that, years ago on a 526 for a guy working a road brush if I remember right..

Think I ran a live feed to the switch and also took the live from joystick button to it, and wired it so that when the switch was off it allowed the button to function as normal, and switched on it cut the feed from the button to stop it back feeding the circuit.
That is assuming your machine just has buttons on the joystick.

like i said first you need to know what pump it is on the JCB, if its a gear pump then yes rig up a toggle switch or something ideally with a safety cover over it so it cant be switched on by mistake.

if you have a top spec machine with piston pump then no you will need to make the spool block on the crane suitable for a closed circuit first, other wise the pump wont have a clue what its supposed to be doing!

on my 08 310 you press a switch then can set a spool to constant pump
