2003 model. Whenever the engine is switched off, a lot of rattling takes place somewhere inside, l dont know if it is a spline loose that drives the g-box of drives the pump. Its just like a lot of backlash as the the engine stops turning, Any ideas please. Thanks

Damper coupling on flywheel i would think.

But is the engine switching off properly or running on for a bit and ruff? if so be the latching valve in the injector pump faulty.

Just a helpful note for anyone out there with similar developing noises as mentioned above on this type of JCB. Only days after posting this it let go and we lost all drive. When it was stripped down we found it to be all the 6 x 8mm bolts had come out of the flexi plate bolted to the back of the fluid flywheel coupling. So this connecting had been rattling for some time now and it finally decided to let go. Helpful note, if you get under the machine, after removing the under plates, you can remove a couple of rubber bungs to get a good view of the couplings condition, (I know this now!)
