JCB 530/70 harsh shuttle

Driving one of these recently and engaging the shuttle in 1st or 2nd just about gives you whiplash! Ended up using 3rd all the time which was much smoother but not ideal around the yard.

It's a 2005 agri super- can they be calibrated or anything adjusted to make shuttle engagement less severe?

1st on any handler isnt really ever needed. JCB problem is they dont have pressure modulation of clutch packs

Lay off the revs shuttling. Will also protect your gearbox. I try to only shuttle when near stopped.

Yes I do that, this is very sharp even engaging from stationary at tickover.

Press brake pedal shuttle into drive and release brake pedal to go smooth as you like.

Far as i know yes, there was claims of a software update i think on newer stuff a while ago but i cant see how that makes any difference and the solenoids are all 12v on off and not variable. the only thing the software update could affect is the auto shifting of the gears and they would do that by reducing the time taken to change up gears so its changing gears at a lower engine rpm so the converter can take out more of the shock load.

What they really need to do is have a mechanical pressure modulating valve like manitou have done for the past 30 years!

neighbours 536-60 or 65 cant mind the numbers over 13000hrs its an 09 reg been doing this for years its some jolt mind.
Truck is rough looking but never seems too not go.
