Jcb 530/70 won’t reverse.

Hi my jcb 530/70 stopped reversing yesterday , would still go forward but no reverse, then I stopped it and it won’t start, with the key on if I put it into reverse the reversing buzzer comes on. Where do I start looking to solve this . Thanks.

F/R lever, reverse mirco switch failed.

Vapormatic sell both types manual and 4 speed powershift versions. Although with Christmas almost on us you need to find someone local with one in stock really to be safe.

If he put f/r lever to R and has buzzer on that's mean for me lever send command correct. Question is what gearbox.
Common issue is solenoid output.

What gearbox.
Do you have controller under the seats?
Is reverse light comes on?
Where are you about?

Mine stated doing this intermittently it was rubbed wire in dash only in reverse weirdly too, truly jiggle wires see if it helps as above if you get beeper for reverser sound like switch is working?

If it's your shuttle lever. Do what I did to my terex and bin the lever and put/bodge a on-off-on switch on the joystick. Don't have to take hand off stering wheel anymore and saved £200 in the process. 😉

Ah you've got a power shuttle... mines manual didn't have that problem!!
Maybe keep the lever for the gears then!

An idea for you to get the machine moving again if you can't get a new shuttle quick enough.

That's why I said check if you have transmission controller. If you do it could be leave or controller or harness. Easy to check with a laptop or by eliminating one by one but could be expensive.

If is manual than your problem is leaver or harness, bad joint, relays, fuse.

think theirs 2 sides to the switches, so it will be the safety start side that's welded shut
So you think it’s a new lever unit.

If that's what the problem is then yes.
You can put new switches in them but it's a flag and the levers are often worn out on the pivots anyway, plus as a powershift lever you got the added hassle of twist grip gears which you cant really do alot with and often break when you take that apart or dont work well after.

New levers not really an expensive item and something worth having as a spare anyway on these old jcb and matbros etc which were always eating them on reverse.
