How do I tell diffence.
531 70 yr 09 to 2012
Seen a few for sale with pick up hitch which could be add on.
My understanding is
Turbo
Soft ride / bounce
Hyd locking pins
Pick up hitch
Joystick control
Air con
Air seat.

Can you tell from reg if I ring a jcb dealer

And are hour clocks temperamental on this year's.

Thanks.

You can have all of the above on a constuction spec machine.

Constuction spec would usually be 4speed box and a standard 3 lever set up.

Just a few pointers -531-70 Have Turbo - for emissions - no extra HP. - Hyd Locking Bolt On, APUH Bolt On, Air Con Option, - So a genuine FS is easy to spot - look a serial no plate for KW - Tyre Size, Joystick with Rocker Switches, Smooth Ride, Plenty of extra Factory Fitted Services, Hyd Locking Factory Fitted is a tidy set up etc etc

I’m sure you woukd find site spec machines are very under powered, only being required to carry and lift
Nick...
We bought a construction spec (100 hp) with v. low hours added a pick up hitch and we have now added over 7000 hours in three years. I also have a Claas 7045 and there is no comparison between the two power and speed wise but the JCB can pull an 8 tonne trailer at 25 kmh loads all my seed potatoes in the field, loads muck and stone. Its on a par with the JCB 525HL we have. If you don't know any better it's pretty good.

Have had experience of hired plant Machines found they don’t have the degree of tip angle that Agri spec have, is this still the case?

I managed to puncture two tyres with a muck fork so I would say they do have the tip that ag spec ones do. There is no comparison for jobs like loading bales in a field but in a yard or similar they are plenty good enough however I think a 55kw (75hp) is probably a bit small.

I’m suprised at that but obviously you know.i think they are about 80hp but may be incorrect on that.

I think the geometry is a bit differant being a true parallel lift obviously for safety sake like lifting bricks onto scaffold

JCB construction and ag machines have the same geometry for tip and crowd,I know manitou are different.

I’ve a 75hp,85hp and 100hp construction machines you only notice the power difference when you leave the yard and hit a hill.

Non turbo, no hydraulic PUH
3 levers for boom operation instead of joystick
And under the seat will probably be full of empty coffee cups and porn mags

mates got a construction spec 530/70, his has a joystick for I think lift and tip with buttons for 3rd service but also has a lever for boom in/out. Has a Hyd pick hitch and a turbo but is very basic in the cab, no air con no radio and no trim around the back of the very basic seat.

Never known a construction one have a turbo or hydraulic puh
Well I’ve X2,all 530s have had a turbo whether or not they are construction or ag for nearly 10 years now, even the 75hp ones have a turbo.

You can spec a construction machine with a hydraulic puh,I priced a new construction spec with air con,air seat, limited slip front axle etc a couple of years ago,it came in at near the same price as a farm special.
