Jcb 532-120 No reverse

Hi all,
JCB telehandler here construction style one.
It will drive forward fine but there is no reverse.
When I put the shuttle lever into reverse position I can here a relay clicking but that's all. Any ideas before we give JCB service a call ?

Can you swop foward and reverse solinoids?

Might be the microswitch in the shuttle lever.

we had a merlow that was like that we swapped the wires to the solenoids to move it but it turned out to be the black box that was nacked

Yep it's called powershift controller on jcb and that's 1 possible suspect,I did the plug swap on solenoid and got reverse for a second,didn't try move it !

My loom rubbed through in centre under steeeribg wheel and was earthing, similar symptoms try moving take adjustment of steering wheel to see if it works

Hi ,
It was water had got into the wiring connectors due to a leaking roof window. Cleaned it up and it was ok after

Thanks lads,I'll get behind the dash and check wiring for shorting!!!and the roof window was leaking (sealed 6 months ago)

Right so I think the key barrel is OK bypassed it and no change However running power direct from the battery to the shuttle everything works as normal. Starts, moves, reversing bleeper etc all working. Can't read the numbers on the wires going to the lever nor follow them because they are...

Great thanks.think you may have pointed me in the right direction.wires look ok around the steering but I have spotted burnt wires from wiper motor heading into the main loom!

I had jammed this motors before. That can cause bigger load on wires and then burn cables especially if the fuse was upgrated

Wires look ok deeper in the loom!for test i reassembled with dash out and drove machine,still all forward no reverse.gave the wiring a shake up while lever in reverse.still no engagement!imagine your right on the bigger fuse for the wiper,could only get fuse layout for 526 on internet.

Right have it sorted,big thanks to combine rescue for information.main problem was fuse holder 19 corroded,then the powershiftlever was intermittent and ended up replacing.to add difficulty to fault finding the solenoid for low reverse is non operational showing no resistance.thanks all
