JCB 8014 - squeaky tracks

Hi

My JCB 8014 has become very squeaky in the tracks area when moving around. Particularly during this unexpected dry weather! I'm planning to check the track gearbox oil in the rear wheels. Anything else I could check or service to get rid of the squeaks.

Thanks

Top of bottom rollers worn out, front idlers worn or broken .
Thanks - I'll check out the rollers and front idlers. Are the rollers supposed to rotate freely? Not sure what you mean by "top" of bottom rollers. Also, are there any greasing points / areas to lube? I can't see any.....

Pretty sure the rollers are sealed bearings. There will be some top and bottom of the channel the track runs round, you’ll need to know wither they are from the top or bottom when ordering new ones as they aren’t always the same. Rollers should be smooth to turn with no roughness or tight spots, they might not spin freely but so long as they’re smooth that’s fine.

Have a look at that first and see how you get on, if there’s nothing worn, try loosening your tracks slightly. You could also chuck a bucket of water over them and see if the squeaking stop some track just squeak because they’re dry but that would be more common for steal tracks than rubber ones.

Thank you for all this. Yes, machine has bottom rollers only. Will look into it all: check the rollers / idler and experiment with track tension and water! Cheers for now
