Demo tractors been parked or returned in less than an afternoon plenty times here . If you know your machine you're pulling and have equivalent or more power on demo then it's usually very easy to know what it's gonna do or not do in a couple of rounds of the field . Different story if it's a strange machine on a demo tractor

I think you’re fair and right I’m the same tbh demos are a pain in lost time dropping machines on and off but have there place if you are serious about a machine but when you know I’d rather park it up and use my own .
Had a 7310 on demo last year it made me realise how well wheel tractors had come on and pushed us to run one along side the crawler (not a jd though) I really didn’t like the e23 gearbox

E23 works ok in the 8400r but I wouldn’t want it in a 7r

the machine I was dropping off didn’t have good tyres so 50k was plenty quick enough and as I said I didn’t like their machine so why put hours on it at their expense .
Are you mad openly admitting your not a free loading waster out to screw every second out of a demo tractor :rolleyes:
Cracking attitude mate as you say you know if it’s not for you within a short time and the amount of money involved in buying these days you’d want to be impressed from the moment your arse touches the seat. Those 7310r are some bloody tractor I’ve driven a chipped one it was an animal. Will you demo anything else ?

In 1974 we were considering buying a Howard Bigbaler and the local machinery rep invited us to go and see one working at a nearby farm. Chatting to the farmer in question l asked him how he was getting along with it. "I like it!" He replied "It's saved me a hell of a lot of work"
" How many acres have you baled with it?" I asked.......

"3" :rolleyes:

It was not a replacement for our 7310r that was pretty apparent pretty quick . End of .
Having no experience of either of these machines, can I ask why the fastrac is a non starter? surely on a dyno they will be close to each other.. The fendt vario in the fastrac will no doubt suck up more power and with the high top speed will result in more hydro input at the same working speed as other manufacturers.. Can't be a deal breaker tho as the fendt is highly regarded and not much slower on the road. If it is not just power and bulk that is the problem then what else do you not like?

Theres a crew around my part of the fens that runs 3x 8330s and a number of 4220s they seem to like them, mind you one of the companies they contract for also had big JCBs and ditched them for a fleet of NH T7.315s which will easily out pull a 8330.
I wonder what JCB will release at Agritechnica, maybe a 250hp 4000 series!
