Anyone know the correct boom position to check the hydraulic oil on a JS130 ?, yes I know read the manual but we haven’t got one for it !.

On a daewoo, we extended the dipper and lowered the lot to the floor ,,all double acting rams so the oil will be balanced either side in theory.

Yeah that’s how the hitachi is as there’s a sticker on the tank showing that, but the JS hasn’t a sticker and the owner thinks you have the dipper vertical but isn’t sure and would like to know !.

Has it got a dipstick or a sight glass on the side of the tank ,,a gallon above level wont make any diference, be plenty of expansion room in the tank

Sight glass on tank, I’ve always checked it with the boom stretched out and it’s always been fine !.

If you can see the oil either stretched out or closed in ,,it'll be right ,,only worry when you can't see it
