Needed set of seals (4 o rings) for the solenoid valve controlling the quick hitch on my js145.
From JCB part no. 25/220533 price £104.65 vat inc.
After falling over and getting back up again went to local seal / bearing men were they had seals to the exact same measurements, they charged me £3 for two sets (one spare).
Now I know that dealers have overheads but this is taking the pee.

I mistakenly sent the OH to pick up some bits for the joystick on my 526s.. she returned with two ball joints and an invoice for £142.. I've never known such a tiny part to be so dear.

Swore I'd never use them again, but I chanced a call when the radiator started leaking, JCB wanted just shy of a grand ?

It’s like most stuff it Varys I got full seal kit for my lift ram was around 9 different seals in total was 75 ish starter motor cheaper at Jcb than anywhere else and recent door glass was super reasonable, perhaps I’ve been lucky I always check first. Pins are mental expensive but super easy to make!

Couple of years ago i priced a seal for front axle hub from 2 mf dealers. £110 for the seal. Went to local tractor mechanic who also supplies parts. He supplied seal, fitted it, changed all axle oil and put new ball joint on for £100. I was comin away smilein

Rebuild kit for JCB handbrake was exactly twice the price from local dealer as what it was from plant spares company online.

You should try anything labelled “Subsea” though. We needed two new V-bands for a control pod basically giant jubilee clips 4ft around.

Phoned the manufacturer of the equipment and the guy just said nonchalantly “em yeah we’ve got them *pause* £145. Phoned stockist in Aberdeen, £14.

Don’t even ask about seal and o-rings from schilling robotics!

Wheel bearings for our old case skidsteer £140 ish including two seals which are roughly half of that, about£68. "Special case seals only from USA". Bearing Man got them for £3.50 or a box of 100 for £300

the JCB engine starter motors are cheap cause there made in china, although they look like an iskra/mahle they clearly are not.

Jcb does not own refinery , so shop around for your oils they just put it in yellow containers you can find the same spec a lot cheaper .
