Will do. First step is the donor loader. I have an idea for motors etc already

Could you not just re move engine and connect a motor up to a 530 or manitou 90 deg box and then fill engine bay with battieres?

This way you get to keep all the hydraulics which drive of angle box and save having another motor for hydraulics?

If you had a variable piston pump type that only pumps on demad then power lost driving it while just traveling about would be minimal?

The plan is to get away from mechanical transmissions, as the 3rd gear clutch packs seem the weak point. Electric motors produce peak torque at zero revs, so generally don't need gearboxes. I would use a simple gear hydraulic pump and drive the motor to give constant pressure, as electrical control is so much simpler (for me at least) than hydraulic. Motors and controllers are reasonably cheap from China these days, its the batteries that will be the big item in the project.

I was hoping that the Kramer electric would be available in telescopic, but that seems a long way away.

driving a gear pump all the time will eat battery power, better with a piston pump.
