Hello all,

So my machine has bad chrome on the ram and this has torn the seals causing a leak, in good faith I bought what was sold to me as a tilt ram off a 535, anyway I get round to fittingit and the ram is too short and the pins are a different diameter, have looked all over it for any part numbers and I have attached all I could see, ram is about 31" long when closed

That's because a 535 tilt ram connects direct to headstock were as yours is possibly inside the boom with a linkage to headstock.

Nope mine goes to headstock too, this one I bought is 2" shorter and pin bores are smaller, just a shame I can't find a clear part number

What do you mean you cannot get a part number? Is it not a standard part your jcb dealer can quote for?
Is it agri spec or construction spec, as tip and crowd angles can sometimes be different, so possibly different rams.
Put model number and year up and I’m sure someone will have more info.
Is the picture the original one, or the one you bought?

Is it like this one?
Bush sizes are in the diagram.

Yes, I can't see the part number for the ram I have laying in the shed, if I can work out what machine it's off I have a chance of selling it on as it's no use to me
I don't need to know the one off my machine as as you pointed out I got that from the website, it's the one I bought thinking it would fit my machine that I need to identify

That’s cleared things up. I didn’t get this from your first post at all. Surely if you bought it in good faith, and it’s not the correct size, the seller should take it back? Or if it’s in good nick, a hydraulic repair shop may take it as payment/part payment for a new rod for your ram.
