Doing a service what's best to get crud oil out of bed Run with some diesel in it?

If it's bad I start with diesel run up for a few seconds then 2 or 3 fils with hydraulic oil run for a bit longer

Not sure about that. Check your handbook.
most beds want straight 80. 80/90 is too thick

I have used 80W-90 on my 1360 mower for many years without issue.

I just put a couple of tyres under one end of the bed, let it down and take the end cap off. Won't be much left in after an overnight.

85-140 is the correct stuff.

Manual says oil meeting GL-5 specification is the requirement. This probably covers a lot of different types and viscosities of gear oils?

Hi I have a 1355 mower that wants oil changing in bed .
I have the gasket for end .I understand you run it up and drain sloping to end .
Where do you fill ?is it the plug on top ?
I think this one is corroded can't find anything that fits it . Could tack weld key in to get undone?Heat might help!thanks

I ended up buying a new bung and cap screws for the end plate as they were burred over as well. If you heat the bong (typo reminded me of good times ) the magnet will fall off the end most likely but we fished it out ok and replaced the bung. The bung only barely gets nipped up now.

Reckon if you put the tyre under the other end of the bed you could fill it through the end plate. ... off memory it's only a litre or so.

yes, the magnet was glued to the bung on ours.
we still run an ancient 1350 so my oil quantities will not be accurate and neither is my memory!

Ours definitely did but you're right in that the new bung didn't I don't think.

I put derv one mine and ran it to clean it as above then the reomended oil as per manual, just get gl5 spaldings actually do it very reasonable same asi use in my quad diff

It's 1.6 litres in a 55 and 2 litres in a 65 no more or you will cause overheating because you will get hyd gear pump effect,always drain warm and leave it for a while if you can
