assuming it is a net and string model......how long /how complicated is it to switch between the two methods

On my 580 you just moved a rocker switch from left to right on the back of the box.
I think on the 592 you just toggle between the two using one of the blister buttons on the control box, assuming the string is threaded up ready to go and it has been previously used on string so everything is set up.

Ps why would you want to???? Net is far superior and the last time I saw string bales Noah was loading them onto the ark!!!!![emoji16]

i hate net wrap with a passion......first thing is 4ft bales into ring feeders....string just drop in then take string off....net you've to take wrap off over the feeder....bitsa hay fall off....sheep stick heads in then it's a job to drop bale in without hitting them......wet net wrap is messy.....all in all yeuch from me

I also hate net wrap... it all gos to land fill too!,have done all mine with string this year with my JD 590

is that really true about going to landfill ....i often wondered how the hell they could recycle it

I’ve just sold one....you simply hold the button in for 3 seconds and it switches over

Yes,... cant do any thing with it.....!,can recycle string!. Most of the wrap has also been going to land fill for the last 2 years too......
