Climate control, front axle suspension, front linkage, extra lights, autosteer (or autosteer ready), extra spools, electric spools, hyd top link, cvt gearbox, headland management etc etc not to hard to find another £30k of stuff.

I like my A/C cant do without that and I can see the point of autosteer if drilling or fert spreading and perhaps with a wide cultivator on but that's about it.
I suppose the other stuffs nice but the extra expense isn't going to earn you any more money is it?

One flashing lights enough too(y)

Bloody hell i'm starting to sound like an old bugger:sorry:

Don’t know why people moan .. it’s a fact that stuff gets more expensive as tech gets more advanced ...... how much now for a decent spec Disco/Land Cruiser/Premium spec motor these days ...
Plenty farmers roaming around in the latest 4X4 but don’t moan about the price and then there’s the servicing costs @£80+ hr!

It’s all relative ...

I can only talk with regard to my experience and the tractor I use currently which has:
-AC not climate control in this case
-front suspension which improves the ride dramatically on the road (in comparison to a similar tractor we have that doesn't have it which is quite a rough ride)
-front linkage which carries either the front weight or the front mounted sprayer tank
-extra lights do come in handy at night though I guess not crucial
-autosteer is a godsend
-4 spools all used when tractor is on the drill so that extra spool is needed
-electric spools again mainly for the drill so they are used in conjunction with the headland management and setting flow rates on the computer makes life very easy
-hyd top link helps a lot with the fert spreader or plough or drill, easy adjustment from the cab saves a lot of faffing about trying to alter a normal toplink with a machine on the linkage
-cvt gearbox is nice, perhaps the one big expense that isn't really needed though
-headland management works very well with the drill or plough and press and saves a lot of time or forgetting something in a sequence of buttons and levers when drilling.
-I only have 1 flashing tit (its the aforementioned similar tractor with no front suspension, no frills, manual spools etc that came from stock with twin tits!):D

Auto steer is actually a bigger gain on small cultivators as say a 35 cm overlap on a 3 meter machine is a bigger % of width compared to 12 meter machine.

Some machines like spud harvesters can block out the flashing light. A second one increases chances of it being seen.

Lots of other so called toys on my Fendt but they all earn their keep by increasing productivity

Why are JD radios so crap the basic ones are unusable that's what I've found
You would think they would fit a Bluetooth as standard now a days as only £100 .
I wondered the same. Our Maxxum came with a Sony radio, very good except it doesn't have bluetooth built in. Our loaner New Holland has a Grundig, sh!tty radio but has bluetooth.

I'm starting to think that the dealers just buy whatever radio they find for as cheap as possible. Jvc on our Deere is crap, our Masseys Blaupunkt was crap and Maxxums Sony is good. :scratchhead:

The world has gone mad. £100,000 for a 155hp John Deere tractor.

Just a few weeks ago a brand new 210hp NH with front links and powershift box on 650’s was £78,000 with 3 year warranty.

Why would you ever bother ringing up a Deere dealer when you can buy a significantly bigger tractor for considerably less money.

Clives post suggested his quote for NH was not far away from JD and fendt when specked the same.

A neighbour bought a new 75 hp tractor in 1978, he didn't need finance as he sold 100 lambs for £77 each and that matched the price of the tractor . A 100 lambs now might buy a set of tyres.

I can remember my dad complaining one harvest when I was still at school, about going to buy a new pair of work boots and they cost more than 1 ton of wheat.
