JD 6155r V Fendt 718

Fendt developed the vario in the 70s but funding stopped the development till the mid 90s, can,t comment on the jd but came a lot later. The jd auto power tractors i know about seem to be ok but according to jd dealerships they seem to prefer the power shifts for 2nd hand and ease of selling.
JD had a whole ruck of transmission failures a few years ago with their ZF made CVT transmissions. Not sure whether current models are more reliable or not. Probably are.

Anyone ever seen a tractor advertised with Full Service History?

Used to see cars with FSH, but seems to have become a thing of the past.

Nobody would dare publish how many sets of brakes, add blue sensors and what ever else goes wrong with new tractors.

Well a jd has ranges which change automatically when accelerating/decellarating where as fendt has field range and road range and once your in either range its totally hydrstatic from 0-top speed thus its a true vario whereas a jd on the road will start in range 1 and work its way up as your speed increases and down as speed drops. Mabe on the new 1s this isnt noticable but on the older 1s ye could tell when she changed range

The Deere Has Ranges internal that you don't notice and this help the transmisson to make it more efficience with no less that 60% mechanical power used at any speed
and never use full hydro power which is un efficiency and power lose and giving 100% mecha nical power at working and transmisson speeds

Also don't forget deere has more in house tech than the rest
and has the Fuel guarantee program and has paided out many times on efficiency

how do know i have not got some fendts I service my self ?
all our other tractors we have sold in the past have all ways sold better with a full service history
You have implied in other posts that your Fendts are dealer serviced. Does the extra you get payed for the additional servicing pay, if you keep a tractor to 10k hrs at £2/hrs servicing costs compared to £1/hr doing it yourself is that tractor worth £10k more? I am guessing at the figures so don't pull me up on that this is more or less the costs on our Fendt.

Sorry, from previous posts I got the impression that you were all MF until you got the Fendts recently? Certainly you've mentioned several to me in threads over the last year or so.
Either I'm mistaken, or you are not telling the full tale.
If there's on thing rattles my cage it's BS.
as most people on here know we used to run a JCB Fastrac & it was sold to TFF member , we have all so Case, & IH & john Deere

I assume somewhere there is the "standard" warranty and then extra that you pay more for?
If that's the case have you saved money by buying extended warranty?
For an extended warranty to be cost effective for the owner, repairs done would have to add up to more than the cost of the cover.

So what about all the fergys apart from the 7618 you cry about and the two 6480's you still have?
We're they all dealer serviced and warranted, then run to high hours?

Personally, it's about 1tractor in 5 where it pays better to have a big warranty and dealer servicing. A lot depends on predecessor and deal on the day.
Paying over a grand for a big service hurts!

Other than the tractors which are under warranty now all tractors in the past were bought with 1 years warranty , then serviced in house on the mark & all of this worked great with low running cost until we bought some MF 76 tractors & these tractors have been nothing but trouble, Would you like come a long & show use how to do things as you seem to know more about us than any thing do you know what I all have in my yard ?

No need to get stroppy old boy, just trying to make sense of what you say on here. You can be quite contradictory at times, then take the huff when challenged.
Heyho, I'm sure all will be fine.
