jd 6200 missing gears

i There.
Have a old jd 6200 with a 12 speed synchro gearbox which has not given me any problems until i used it yesterday. When i started up and tried selecting a range i noticed that i had no c and d range and the gear lever moves back and forward with no resistance.
Am sure something must have broken but any ideas on what problem might be?.

Bowden cable that goes from the gearstick counsol to the gearbox has broken, or a pin has come loose.
