JD 6430 gear change cable

Typically having borrowed father in laws JD 6430 for silage I need to change the cable for the middle ranges (C-D)as the crimping has come undone.

Had a quick glance at it, couple of questions for the JD experts. Is there clearance to change the gearbox end under the cab?? Looks tight but do-able. Are the cables siliconed where they go through the floor? Or is it a rubber bung? Real tight if it is.
Dealer doesnt have one just now anyway.

Thanks

Cable can be removed from under cab, it’s a tight fit unless you’ve go cab suspension. Probably find removing the r/h wheel makes things a lot more accessible.
The cable goes through an clamp in the cab floor, you’ll see it easy enough once the console panel is removed and floor mat lifted. You’ll need to remove the console panel to access the top end of the cable anyway.
