Hi all
I have a slight oil leak on front hub. Would anyone have part numbers for front hub oil seals, JD 6610. I'm in France and want to make sure i order the correct parts.
Thanks in advance.

Now Then..
Look at jdparts.com. You may need the axle type and serial number..
Thanks very much for that. I need never ask this question again? Don’t know why I haven’t seen that before.

You can replace the hygard oil in the hub for gearoil (80w90 or something) to stop leaking. I have seen it done by the dealer, not so sure if it's good practice.

The original spec was for GL5 (80w-90 or thereabouts). It was only changed to hi-guard about 20 years ago.

The only reason John Deere use Hygard in front axle, other than it is suitable is so the the customer only needs 2 oils to service the whole tractor. Plus 50 for the engine and Hygard for the transmission and front axle.
Obviously you can tip what you like in anywhere. I've always used JD oil. Some say it's expensive. But then if you have a £100000 tractor, why try and save £10/20 on servicing??
And, yes, I've put thicker oil in to slow a leak occasionally..
