Having a issue for about a year now with my tractor. When lower lift it won’t lower unless u stand on the lift arms Or if unhook pickup hitch when unhooking a trailer or tanker it goes down fine then. Then lift it back up after to lock back in. Then it stops at top and won’t go down. Have the lift arms and rods and all linkages well oiled and greased yet it still does it. Any ideas what could be issue and is it likely to be something expensive
Thank you

Now Then..
Take the pick up hitch rods off completely ( unless you're certain they're straight and free ).
It's not uncommon for water to get in the top of the lift cylinder, cause rust & nip the seals

If it isn't one or both of the lift arms that have gone stiff.then the problem must be in the hydraulic valve not letting the flow back fast enough. Could try connecting the lift rams to a spool valve to try. It would determine the stiff linkage theory.

Il take them off and see. Had them shortened to help lift hitch up better 3 or 4 years ago. Does very little hitch work these days

Do the lower lift rams pins take grease ok? sounds to like they might be binding, strip down clean pins. might have to use some heat!
