Recently had to change your main tractor to a 6130R. It has the basic radio that does work through the screen but doesn’t have Bluetooth. What radio head unit would folk recommend to put in that we oils ideally integrate with the screen to pull up contacts etc

Not too sure it could be done. Probably a dealer job plus 900 for the premium head unit. Most people just put a normal car radio in if the head goes as being canbus they are mega money.
I just put a parrot in my other 6r that's not got the premium radio

Have a 6R with the proper radio & works fine, hear of lots of problems with them but mine is 2014 so maybe thats the difference.

Had another tractor with duff radio & a parrot that would sometimes work if it was in the mood. Ripped the lot out & stuck this in with a DAB ariel

Not used it that much yet but the bluetooth works well for calls & playing music off the phone (my main use) really well, going to stick one in another tractor soon.

It would have to be the correct radio from the manufacturer to work in conjunction with the screen. If your good with a soldering iron and confident enough to solder some resistors up I can point you in the direction of the components you need to use the hard buttons 'if they are fitted' in order to work with aftermarket head units. My current tractor I have just does the volume buttons then I Bluetooth everything from my phone. My last tractor did volume, source and track skip from an Ipod or Dab radio which was pretty revolutionary on a tractor at the time! You could get a nice Ram Mount cradle and just control everything from your phone screen then.

These John Deere radios are absolute rubbish.I’ve got a new 6155r and they’ve changed the aerial on them, you can be sat in the same spot with perfect reception then nothing but a load of white noise. The fitter thought it was an earth problem, put a new earth on and still the same. The Bluetooth keeps dropping out also. He did mention I’m not the only one to be having problems.

Any idea what this wire is for? It’s in the wire bundle for the radio. Also the black and pink multi plugs that don’t go into the short adapter, I’m assuming they are to work the radio through the screen
