JD 740a/750a

What's the difference between the 2 drills ? Thanks

740 was what JD called a mulch till drill. Double disc openers with a max pressure per opener of 50kg. It needed the ground to be worked in front of it however it was available up to 9m wide in the uk and had some decent work rates with not much power. One 8m local one used to plant 300 acres most days ( driver liked long hours ) on a JD 7810.
750 has single disc opener with up to 250 kg per opener and can do everything the 740 can and also direct drilling. 6m is the max width available in the UK.
