Jd 750a vs Horsch Avatar

Why is that?

In my experience it lacks penetration power. Shame because the rest of the machine is good

First of all which one would you prefer and why ?
How these one disk openers perform drilling WOSR into barley,wheat or rye stubble, all straw will be chopped. I have JD s690i combine with premium chopper and macdon 35" head.
May be some picutres of emerged OSR?
All an all my rotation is spring barley,cover crop, Peas, w.wheat, wrye or w.barley,Osr,w.wheat,cover crop,Spring beans, w.wheat, cover crop.

I run a JD 690i with 35ft header & Advanced Powercast spreader. The Hillside kit makes straw spreading a real pain when the chassis tilts on hills and a straw rake is a must here. Is yours a Hillmaster?

My drillman's mate has a new Avatar which they chose instead of a 750A. I'll see how they got on with it. They used to run a Claydon but it couldn't handle chopped spring barley straw or steep slopes.

Norwoods have 3 Avatar's on there way to our sunny shores, hopefully we can see one at kirwee.

Yes the Avatar will be at Kirwee, I just signed up on the first one to land in NZ and should have it running next week. I'm coming from the JD 750a so will have a comparison of the 2 soon.

did you compare the JD the same day in the same field ?

Had a 750a in neighbouring field (same soil type) about 3 weeks afterwards. Conditions were harder then, but an unweighted JD penetrated fine on low pressure
