JD baler net

Just bought a 678 and wondering what net to get for it? It didn't like networx at all but the cotesi that came with it seems to be ok.
Also any tips on getting bales out of the door? Some haylage and even dry silage seems to stick in there.

My brother uses the John Deere own brand net and says it’s as good as any. You’ll find your bales are sticking because the balers new. Get the paint worn a bit and you’ll have no bother

John Deere don’t make net. They buy it from tama in their colours. Cordex is good. Reliable. Works well in our NH648 over edge wrap.

As has already been said, JD net is made by Tama. Farmer's net was ok when I was baling with Deere's, but that was 15 years ago. It wasn't a great netting system back then so unless there have been updates you'll probably not find a net that works perfectly.
Are the wedges in the back door? They should pull the bale out of the chamber. I don't remember any problems getting bales out of 578s or the 678. What width are your rows? A Deere will put everything into the sides of the bale if the rows are too wide which might make the bale more likely to stick.

Looks like I'll have to dig deep and try some tama. Our old welger is happy with any old net but this one seems a bit fussy. It's gobbling up the grass and making some cracking solid square bales mind.

The rows were fairly wide 5 to 5 1/2ft and filling the full reel width at times. Have to ask the boss to narrow the rake down a bit next time then. Think it has a couple of rectangular plates bolted inside the door if that's what the wedges are. Cheers guys

Im not familiar with our baler but my JD578 has a rubber roller to feed the net in and i used to ahve trouble with the net on it. A friend told me to sprinkle baby talcum powder all over the net and the roller and it seemed to help. I never had trouble in hay or straw only silage so im guessing the dust was doing the same job as the talc then. I can put any old net in mine now works fine. The only other trouble i sometimes get with cheap net is when i put s new roll in it can sometimes tear the net as it goes into the chamber instead of feeding in. I put that down to the cheap net not being strong enough to be pulled with the wholenweight of a new roll. After a few bales (20ish) its usually ok then as the roll is a bit lighter or thats what i think anyway.

I have john Deere net there i think it is tama in john Deere colours tho. Always worked in my old john Deere however changed to a lely 235 this year and came with a roll of cheap bad quality net and the baler would just refuse to net what so ever however i took out the bad roll and put in the john Deere net and she never missed a bale!!

has anybody ever heard of packrite net, i have got someone local that supplies both it and tama. The Tama is 140 per role and the packrite is 105. both prices are plus vat. Would like to know has anyone ever used it before as i have never heard tell of it

i find the cheaper nets good
but need to up the spins i put on
which negates any saving
tama is expensive
so my current favourite is tama previous tech
ie
tama made 4200m
which in my neck of the woods is
acorn 4200 supplied by quinns of athy
its a light green as well
and is invisible from a distance on the bales
which helps their appearence
i just dont like the b and w of tama
not agricultural colours imo
