JD Seats

My JD 3220 telehandler seat failed today. It’s a Grammer mechanical base but can’t see a number on it.

I also have a MSG85 base that came out of the tractor (6330) but it doesn’t fit straight in to replace the fecked base in the handler.

Will both seat have common internal parts? Could strip down the tractor on to replace parts in the handler.

Most likely if it failed suddenly it’s the spring holders that have worn through. Not something for swapping It’s a wearing part

It’s actually the threaded rod behind the winding handle for weight adjustment that’s broken. Changing the setting between Dad and myself too often!!
Air base was put in the tractor for easier changing between drivers

That would be great @ACEngineering

I’ve actually fitted a mechanical tractor seat (6520) in my 3200, the tele-handler seat has different hole spacings in the base as you probably already know.
Can’t just remember weather I just re drilled it or made an adaptor plate:scratchhead: I’ll have a look tomorrow.
I know the tractor seat is way more comfortable than the original handler seat though (y) but it is a tight fit!

Figured it out now:)

it was a 12v basic Air grammer

Did you have to alter the mounting holes @acorn :scratchhead:

The Grammer seat went on our Manitou, as said above it tore a hole in the bottom plate. I went on line and found a Grammer dealer and bought the bottom business end and attached the seat ie the cushion and the back to it. ‘Twas easy, was less than 180 quid. Was just like a new seat again.

I dont bother selling the base types that punch a hole in bottom plate as they do it far to often.

What’s the best way of raising the base of a grammer seat? Have one in a jd 5820 it’s a killer on the knees if you spend a day on it
Should just be able to lift up at the base and it’s on a ratchet mechanism. If you lift to high it will drop to the bottom and you have to start again. (y)
