Jd2140 speedo

im having a problem with my John Deere Sg2 2140 as soon as I turn the ignition on the Rev needle jumps to 500 rpm even with the engine turned off I have replace the magnetic sender in the front timing cover and it still dose it any thing else to look out for ? Many thanks joe
 
Remove printed circuits from both left and right dash panels and re-solder the back of the pins that connect to the multi plugs. Two plugs on each printed circuit,12 or 16 pins on each connector, start here they will have cracked causing a dry joint.

This ^^^^^^^^^^ you’ll be surprised at what dry joints on those prints causes !.
 
Hi iv done as you said and no joy

I have recently rebuilt the engine is there any way I could of put the top idler gear on the wrong way so the is no ridges for the magnetic sensor to pick up on
