6930 is a brilliant tractor, and you’d struggle to think you’d find anything better, but the 6155 is light years ahead, in comfort, quiet and lots of other features. Try it out first if you’re unsure.

Got a 16 plate 155r autopower and an 11 plate 6930 autopower.

The 69 would eat the 155 for pulling power all day long in every application so we chipped the 155 and it'll just edge it now but not by much . The 6930 is untouched from new.

The 6155 feels very numb turning circle wise but is on bigger tyres 600 x 28 compared to 540 x 28 but the bonnet is wider on the 155 so it's the limiting factor for wheel stop adjustment.

It's been good reliability wise but it's gonna be the first to go as none of us really like it and can't get 100 percent comfy and none of us can explain it other than the step the seat sits on is marginally higher than a 30 series I just can't get the seat set right it's either too high and hard or banging off the bottom.

They run very hot engine wise it runs 90 degrees on what I'd call light work ( round baleing) so in the dust it takes very little dust on the screens to cook the engine.

I've a mate went from a 15 plate 215r to an 18 plate and it's twice the tractor the early one was so they're maybe better from 18 on I dunno.

Whatever you do do not get a claas!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting 🤔..., I have a contractor who says his Claas tractors would pull the John Deere apart having watched a 6215r pulling a trailer in a maize field alongside his Claas tractors.... quite a few Claas tractors here ( backed by strong dealership ! )

I ran a 2015 class 650 for 2yrs on a hire contract before the 6155 .
And it was so much bother it spent the last 2 months parked in the shed as I couldn't get a full days work out of it so never made it to the full contracted hours

I have a 2018 6155r autopower, bought new and its done 2500hrs. Only things it’s had is a new ad blue gauge when it was new but didn’t fix the problem until there was a software update to fix it and a cab suspension accumulator as it would hold pressure In comparison to power of a 6930 I’d say you’d be disappointed but comfort and general use you’ll be happy with it.

How many hours per year to justify a third tractor? That’s my dilemma! It’s a luxury purchase and not a business decision..I didn’t want to have to sell either of my 6930’s if possible and I’m farming just 500 acres ... so a couple of hundred hours a year at best... it is a 2018 6155 but like all machines they are crazy money!!

Up to what sort of hours are you looking at buying?

A Claas that is from 2013 and newer will be a much nicer tractor in my opinion. Better suspension than anything that isn't fastrac and a better CVT box.
Still got that dubious JD engine, though apparently Claas fixed the head gasket issue...

Potential downside might be residuals since apparently they don't hold the value over in the UK. Come to think of it though that doesn't matter much when buying 2nd hand.
