I was thinking a neighbouring farmer might be more help. I can see why they used the agent however to add some professionalism. He does come across a bit of a stick in the mud though - do as I say because…..! Also comes across with a sense of I know the rules but have never done it myself before. Probably not true however.

I keep wondering about how much his bill must be for such simple advice…..
He said on Radio yesterday his neighbours are really helpful. Even name checked one of them.

I was wondering why, he didn't put old car tyres down in the shed, and drop the seed bags on them to keep them off the ground, could have got a dig in at the environment agency at the same time for having to fill in a form to be able to have old tyres on the farm!

And to miss a days work because the creeper box gear lever had been inadvertently moved.
my neighbour couldn't start his digger and could not work out why, his son had been on it, and had used the seat belt, when he got off, obviously he unclipped it. Usually it is clipped in, but wrapped behind the seat so as not to be in the way!

Another thing that's quite good is that he's taking advice from all areas..,, land manager, environmentalists, locals, shepherd etc and soaking up the additional costs that come with it. Many farmers struggle on their own and have a hat that fit nearly every job hanging up ready to go. Clarkskns Farm is going some way to mimic how other industries manage regulation etc and show how the average farmer (if there is such a thing) just can't afford what is the norm in other industries.
