Devons are nice cattle. My post was a bit of a wind up..........but then again, ive been told i cant tell the difference between a black Limoisin and an Angus.:)

Proper Rubies are lovely animals, absolutely. In their summer's coat, they can be mistaken for other reds, but they do have a distinctive stance and bearing on second looking.

I haven't met enough Black Lims to know how they should look.

Just finished watching it all, and what I took away is that he seems genuinely happy with it.

And I mean genuine, not in the infantile countryfile fawning over itty-bitty lamby-wams type of crap, but the satisfaction of having done stuff, battled the elements and petty bureaucracy, tried your best, had some failures, hopefully more successes and feeling pride in the team’s accomplishments.

good luck to him, I hope he continues to enjoy it and I think his series has been very positive for our industry.

Haven't managed to watch all of it yet but so far throughly enjoyed, is Clarkson about to be the new saviour of UK farming?? Who knows, there's one thing for sure, if his farming endeavours help to raise the profile of farming and an increased awareness of the challenges UK agriculture faces today with the general public, it can only be a good thing.

'Saviour of UK farming' : You are avin' a giraffe! Just how exactly?
Yes, undoubtedly the general public will side with us having watched his 'let's go farming series' but Jeremy Clarkson doesn't influence Government policy!
Clarkson acts the buffoon but he is no fool, his farm doesn't need to make a profit, Amazon Prime will reward him handsomely and good luck to him.
Meanwhile the rest of us at the pointy end struggle on...

Yes but I think all the problems and mistakes encountered during the year, albeit somewhat staged, does draw attention just how difficult it can be to farm effectively. Particularly highlighting the red tape hoops to be jumped through might help with some non farming perceptions of the job?

I think he's just shown why lots of us continue despite crap returns on investment, increased red tape, etc

If you enjoy what you do it's much easier to want to keep doing it.

Looking around at the wider reaction away from this little enclave it's clear that this series is going down massively well with the general public. They aren't just liking it they're absolutely loving it. So many comments saying it's the best thing that's been on telly for years. Even hardcore Clarkson fans are saying it's the best thing he's EVER done (right up there with his war docs). Lots of comments too about newfound respect for farmers. Shame it's only on Amazon.
lets get it on the b.b.c
