Just had a lightbulb moment. No weight issues with towing this - I could move half a dozen cattle behind my quad bike. 👍🏻
A mate of mine has a similar gadget set up for the front of his Merlo for tagging/ recording calves in a technograzing system, they will record 1100 births through it this year and I'm keen to see how it goes

thanks @JP1 I've been waiting for this thread

Is there an English name for this?

Perhaps a Perkins wagon?

Not a bad idea though I wonder how difficult it will be to get cattle into it the second time, heel jamming prevention will be key for moving them about anywhere.

I move a lot of cattle back and forth across a road and it is a lengthy PITA with the Ifor 3 cows at a time, I am watching with interest.

Think the key is always feeding cattle in them. My cows could be just as reticent about coming in to my fixed catching pens

Quite like the fact that folks have to ask what a Treibewagen is ...

We have them over here as well (NL), most literal translation of how we call them would be catchcart.

If you're back, could you get a few more close up photos of the steel rack in the back ground that is in the second last photo, I see some of the steel is placed horizontally and some vertically, I'm wondering how they done it.
Nowt technical!

Horizontal rack under the saw guides and a load of offcuts leant against the wall!

A few more hours with P tonight helping get it all together (and happily the photos make the paint job look better than the reality)

The four short pins for the back gate in frame moving from transport mode (shown) to on the floor for usage will be back from the galvanisers Friday and I can pull the long hurdle pins out

Stainless swing out number plate holder going on tomorrow plus the removable angles that will hold the bluetooth magnetic LED trailer lights on for road work but off completely when left in a field

Next job is to collect with the tractor so P can measure the exact drawbar length and cut to suit. If my measurements work out, I should be able to leave my threepoint linkage A-frame on and carried high so it doesn't foul the drawbar (it works for my bale trailer)

Head yoke shown in transport position and locked in operational use

Two hurdles on J-hooks with tabs at back and by small side door to link the hurdles for loading / handling

I have to say it looks very much a tidy , workmanlike job , and a credit to the fabricator / idea originator . I really hope that it works as well as it looks .
Thank you. Yes my ideas and my desire to help me work singlehanded and with less effort as I get older but the realisation and fabrication skill is down to @the-mad-welder
