I take it you have plenty of room at the end of the saw guides and can pull the lengths out, the end of my saw guides are up against a wall. I don't think it would even work to hold my short lengths.

Yes that's already been thought of . I used to use a rope that closed the small pedestrian type gate behind them and I'd hold the rope like a trawler line until I could get to the catch.

With this I may be in the Treibewagen so again closing the gate behind them

I was going to suggest hydraulic opening and closing gates for catching nervous cattle and tailgating BMW’s!

Permanent catching pen plus two in Treibewagen plus hurdles between makes 4 pens

Couple of yearlings jagged and then some sorting out as I needed to make space for a 10 month old bull collected yesterday

Stress free single handed sorting and loading

Excellent looking piece of kit. So you put a chain across at rump height to nudge them along and prevent the hocks catching and tripping them on the rear gate?
Is it hard to judge the pace?

How did I miss this thread. This is very similar to what Im needing. Sure from posts there is a bit of demand. whats the opinion in its second year @JP1 ?

I like it a lot. I've moved cattle from field to field but not yet been brave enough on the road (1.5 miles including a very fast 300m road stretch)

I've sorted cattle, caught them up for moving, one PD for a mate's heifer that got bulled here, several times I've used it with the head yoke : one very lame cow, one New Forest eye caught quick


And hardly any heavy hurdles to carry any more

No doubt twice the price now with steel cost but could you give a rough idea on cost? How does walking them in it go when going round corners etc is there much tripping etc or just go at walking pace?
