Jersey X Hereford

Anyone any experience of using a Hereford bull to sweep up on Jerseys? Currently using an Angus and the calves they produce are easy to sell on. Having a few issues sourcing an Angus of suitable health status, whereas a Hereford would be simple. Concern is whether the calves would be worth anything, or be on the scrawny side compared to the Angus calves?

We've had a few and they do well. It's pot luck most of the time anyway. We've had some incredible cows through the worst calves ever and the tiny little scruff bags through amazing things.

@roscoe erf loves then out of jerseys and has bought a few from me and I've heard no complaints.

Do you have much luck selling your Angus calves? We never did but i might try a few AI ones again this year.
