JF 1060 clutch

Not my machine but I'm raking for a boy with one and he's having serious problems with the clutch that drives the feed rollers etc

He's replaced the plates and still no better it's one of them self tension one's that you shove it all into the housing knock the tabs in an let the bolts off and it sorts itself out .

Anyone had issues? I've seen him chop bigger crops but he's having to crawl to get going

Once it’s ‘blued’ it’s had it unfortunately and needs a new clutch. Because of the massive pressure in them now to get enough power to the feed rolls once they slip they very very quickly overheat. Even with new plates you just won’t be able to get the torque through them again.
