Hello from Australia :)
I'm a owner of my 2nd tractor a case 1494.
Is there many people who know much about them?
Beside a few oil leaks and the electronics needing attention the main problem seems to be hydrashift not responding at all. The cable is moving at inspection hole. So any ideas?
How does the power steering work on these? Is it a separate oil tank to the hydralic oil. what's the best way to check your level on them, there is no dipstick.
Thanks

The power steering reservoir is part of the pump, remove the plug and fill until it runs back out with AW32 hydraulic oil. Pumps have a habit of leaking oil through the drive and back into the engine when older, steering ram also tends to leak with age.

Gearbox could be many things, control valve not connected, pump in gearbox gone u/s , brake bands broken or badly adjusted

The power steering rams seems to be probably the thing with the most oil showing. The sump gasket leaks slightly I put some stop leak in when I changed oil today not sure if it will seal it.
