Sadly there's no market for a diesel quad. English farmers are a tiny market and all the yanks only want petrol toys to play with!!

Oi!! There's more to this island than just England :sneaky:

And not strictly true, Arctic Cat WERE working on a new diesel...
Since being taken over by Textron, I'm unsure if those plans have been shelved or not, though.

Do arctic cat still make a diesel?

No. Production ceased 2 years ago, sadly :(

Performance (speed) of an old 300cc petrol, but will tow a tonne no bother. Real go anywhere ability - stability and traction petrols could only dream of.

The rubber bushings are as soft as shyte... but apart for that it is easily the best bike Iv had the pleasure of owning for shepherding.

Thats a shame. Was going to get one but they were pricey especially compared tonthe ex demo suzuki i ended up with. Was going to part ex that for one while it was still worth a bit so it wasnt such a big chunk of money in one go but looks like that isnt going to happen now thanks textron :cautious::cautious::cautious::cautious:

Any experience of Honda Pioneer UTV ? My "plastercine Polaris" is becoming a liability, apart from the petrol engine the Pioneer looks good on paper.
Just had a demo one here. Same snatchy gear change as the Honda quad. Little doors are just a pain in the arse and rattle. No turf mode and only 20 litre tank.
Get a demo, but try a Can Am as well. ;)

They were £8000 list.
Compare that to a Honda or Yamaha and the diesel was a bargain!!

Suzuki 400 will be my next bike now I think, they are good bikes (had an Eiger 10 years ago, King Quad is same bike underneath) and very cheap compared the rest (y)

You did well!
List for the manual is £5250, so should expect it to be around £4800 you pay. Honda and CanAm you will pay £5500-£5600 (list £5999-£6100). Surprised Suzuki don't sell more...
Yes mines an auto but its a really good quad tbh. Does everything asked of it and a lot simpler than most others so hopefully less to go wrong. Id buy another tomorrow cant fault it.The only thing i dont like about it (very minor problem really) is the racks are a bit small and dont cover the plastics completley but i wasnt going to pay extra £100s or even £1000s for bigger racks

Have an 12 year old Honda 350 rancher here. It's only two wheel drive (rear wheel drive) Was looking into changing it, but told the newer bigger Hondas aren't built as well and are more thirsty. Also told the two wheel drives are harder to turn over as they will be more inclined to spin around instead of turning over, but I hope I'll never have to test this theory.

That would be my biggest complaint, too - especially the front rack. But Iv a snacker now, so don't carry much on the bike anymore. Just a box at lambing time and the dog when he is exhausted. Just can't decide whether I would want CVT or manual... I have both currently and like them both. I don't think one is any better than the other

The cvt box is much better than the one i had in the kawasaki i had before. The kawa had a belt that slipped all the time but the suzuki has a thing that works like a seatbelt its either locked in or not theres no inbetween. The salesman (a good honest one i knew him before) said he has only ever changed one and that was someone who did something stupid but cant remember what exactly. The new honda dealer by here i knew before he had the hinda dealership even admitted tat the suzuki was a very good quad. Ive driven a new honda its good but its not worth the extra £1000s it costs. Havent tried a manual but i believe they are good too.

Suzuki uses a clutch the same as a manual quad and a belt that’s why they don’t slip and why they change gear nice. I wouldn’t have a Suzuki unless they start fitting ABS, Cos one thing they are crap at is stopping!

I didnt know that someine told.me about the searbelt thing they could well have been wrong. Cant say ive noticed that about.mine. the only time ive.had trouble stopping is going downhill in the wet in 2wd but they are all like that ime. In 4wd never any trouble stopping even with full snacker and bales on top.
