Can do but it's just 2 brackets clamped at the back and a long double acting ramI could do with adding a ram to my harrows, any chance you could take a couple more pics please?
Ok, thanks. I have a pair of double acting rams spare that came off a push off buckrake so were coupled together. I will have a play and see if they can be made to do the job. It doesn't do my back any good lifting the sides up any more! Can do but it's just 2 brackets clamped at the back and a long double acting ram
That's more or less how I do them now only I use a length of timber instead of your angle iron.Years ago when we had cows & grass & therefore some chain harrows, I couldn't lift up the side bits of the harrows as my left arm & hand are paralysed.I just made up a bit of angle iron with a plate on the bottom & another bit of angle welded to the top end to make a v bit for the harrow to sit in. Lift the harrows as high as they will go, place the angle iron with the crook in the folding bit the other end on the ground & lower the harrows to the ground which lifts the end up to height that I could then push them up & over. Some simple brackets on the harrow for the angle iron to attach to when not been required. Cost of virtually nothing apart from a bit time & welding wire as most farms have or should have these odd bits of metal lying around
