Does anyone know much about the JD 1130?

Have been offered one in good condition for what seems a reasonable fee. Apparently they are quite rare so wondered if it was something to purchase and stick in the shed and use occasionally.

Get them to send you some pictures

If hi lo is jerky leave it where it is parts are not easy to get for the hi lo packs

Great engine at starting couple of turns should be enough

Two of mine

Bombproof little tractors.

As with all older JDs hydraulics are the weak link, but as long as you understand their limitations and idiosyncrasies, they are reliable enough.

Chassis, transmission and back-end shares some components with 4 and 6 cylinder tractors so give very little trouble.

If looked after well the engines run forever. We have an 1140 (almost the same as a 1130) just short of 30k hours. A great little pocket rocket that will punch well above its weight.
