John Deere 1340 mower conditioner

OK so my first post but knowing how helpful other forums are I`m hoping this one is the same which I`m sure it is. My problem is I`ve an old John Deere 1340 mower conditioner which appears "jammed" not allowing the cutter "turntables" to spin. I am able to rock them slightly both ways . I`ve dismantled the differential and the vertical drive also rocks in a similar manner. The implication is that the spinners gearing is either jammed or broken. So the advice required is really the easiest way to dimantle the spinners. Does the "skid" plate protectint the gears come off without everything falling out or can I do this exposing the gearing for viewing. Hope someone can help. Cheers.

Big question,,,,,, was it working last time it was used?? If it was, then bearing failure is unlikely. If stored over winter, dry grass under a disc (cutter turntable 🤔) can stop it going round and even stall the tractor. You may find that one disc has no movement, that would be the dry grass one.
I assume you have it in the working position?? If not, the folded driveline will stop it all..
