John deere 3050 no hydraulic pressure

Hi my mate has a 3050 john deere his hydraulic arms work but judder the pto works but the spool valves and steering are dead and the power syncro makes a airlocked type noise when its in low of you put it in high it stops but take your hand off it and it returns to low while the tractors running any ideas folks?

Sounds like serious lack of oil or hydraulic filters need changing

Think its the latter but dont know were to start to look for the problem

Sounds more like its lost low pressure circuit !. Try new filters and clean suction screen first tho.

Now Then..
Has this occurred suddenly or worsened over a period of time?? Has it had the transmission filter changed & the suction screen out for a clean?? Is the problem there from cold, or only when warmed up??
Anyhows,,,,,, while we on here deliberate,,,,, whip the transmission oil filter bypass valve out, see if the rollpin is ok in the end.. Take care putting it back,,,,, it only goes in yan way up, eh..

Yes filters changed and suction screen cleaned. Where is the transmission oil filter bypass valve we can check that

mine did this and it was the front pump it had broken up and eventually sucked through the whole system causing a fair amount of damage the steering going heavy and the juddering where the first signs

Now Then..
I had a fella change his own transmission filter,,, however he put the plate from the bottom on the top!!!! Similar problems (I assume yours is in correctly, spring, plate, AR75603 filter??)
Undo the hex item 10(1 1/4 spanner), then pull out item 8, note the orientation of the tangs on the inner end for when you put it back, eh..

Right we have had the valve out and its ok funny thing was when we fired it up thismorning everything was back spools brakes ect but he took it up the road and when it was in high power syncro he lost the steering put it back in low got it back. This is very wierd

On what you say I'd say the seal in th Hi Lo has failed.. You may have other problems too.
I can't see how you loose the brakes,,, it's simply a reservoir at the pedals with two pistons, topped up with return oil from the steering valve..

I can't see how you loose the brakes,,, it's simply a reservoir at the pedals with two pistons, topped up with return oil from the steering valve..

Mate has no manual so not sure what this warning light means do u have any idea cheers

Yes low oil pressure in transmission circuit. As others have suggested most likely due to worn seals in hi/lo pack.

Yes it does if you shift it from low to high it comes on

Yes 30k box is it a big complex job i mean we are capable of splitting a tractor to do a clutch but with something like this your kind of pokeing about with summet know sod all about lol
