John Deere 3420 fuse blowing

Just been speaking to my neighbour. He has a proplem with his JD telehandler in that every time he drops the boom right down it blows the fuse and he looses all hydraulics. He says it's only when the boom drops right down, the last 90mm he said, if he stops it short it's fine. Any ideas what it could be?

I'll ask. He put a 56lb weight under the boom to stop it dropping all the way and it's stopped the fuse blowing, but is a bugger to pick up pallets.....

Just repaired burst pipe in mine. I noticed that when the boom is right done on the stop it very tight fit all the pipes and cables at the back of the boom and is starting to rub through. Worth a look there I gonna stick a 40 mm rubber extension to the rubber stop ……when I get a minute !

You may find worn lift ram pins and bushes will let boom down alot further than it should do.

Seen many matbros with loose pin holes in chassis and pins either snapped or worn half way through😂

if it's its a 000 or 14 series, it will be solenoid lockout on valve bank, guess tinwork is chafing under boom/side of cab and causing a dead earth at valve assembly. I'd be checking for chafed wires.
