Hi there

I’ve a 4755 which has recently started to breath quite heavy which it’s never done before, it always ran clean !.
There doesn’t appear to be water in the oil but it does look to me as if there’s oil in the water “it looks like cold tea”, it starts fine and runs fine. It only ever pulls a Baler and ran it fine all last harvest.

Hate to say it but, will probably be a head off job! had a 4850 that used to do that for a past time! It was normally a head bolt that had broken. have a look in rad cap, any bubbling?

I’ve done a fair few in the past, not gonna say I love doing them but there ok.
Not looking forward to this one as it’s mine and I’m paying NOT being payed to do it.
All ones ive done are mine , i dont do work for other people, tis a nice job to get stuck into, secrete is a good person to skim it crack test and do valves etc, price a new head you might get a pleasant surprise but then again its a johndeere so maybe not.

Got mine sent over from the States when I did mine, think it was cheap at the the time, no idea of cost as it was long time ago.
Was told it was the torsional rigidity that was the problem, as the artics didn't suffer so badly.
