A friend took a 6210r to 6500 hours without any issues. He sold it locally and wish he hadn’t as the guy that bought it has had major trouble with the gearbox and hydraulics.

Had an early 6210r on hire a few years ago. From memory it was either a 10 or 12 plate. At 250 hours it had to have a new auto power box and then the turbo and intercooler failed so the hire company replaced it with 7280r which did the same thing with the gearbox. Not sure the early r series are good buys to be honest. The more recent ones though have been faultless especially the 6215r’s.

@Phil P are you doing the head gasket on a reasonably new 6250r at the moment!?

I would personally rather drive the JD but the new Holland engine would be better in my opinion. I thought JD engine issues were a thing of the past.

Not me but I know who is doing it, the tractor your referring to got hot (very hot) due to a thermostat issue hence the failure. It’s also been mapped so not sure what sort of power it’s putting out!

Why do people still do that!?🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Been there got the t shirt.
It’s beyond me, why spend tens even hundreds of thousands on a tractor then mess with it I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♂️. Got someone else with a 7730 that’s been mapped and now ecu keeps shutting it down for no reason, nothing I can do with it!

I had a 6930 that I used to drill with I was on my limit power wise so had it mapped . 203hp out of the pto the dyno it had plenty of power but couldn’t put it on the ground so I got bigger tyres for more grip . The result of this was it just got hot so I sold it and brought a bigger tractor ( 6210r)

This is what I’ve always said! You should just buy the right size tractor for the job, it’s a false economy to try and make a smaller tractor do more than it’s designed for.

Round here the loins share of new tractors are remapped but think thats an irish thing that its no use if its not puttin out more than it should and fit to pull triple mowers and large slurry tanks with a 155r and it not feel it
