John Deere 6520 TLS hydro block metal ball and piece inside ?

That square bit metal looks like it had its corners punched so it would sit tight in where it was housed

Yes but question was if it fell off from square aluminium part which cannot be ordered separately as it is "the heart" of the valve or it fell off from any of those screw-in components of the valve which can be ordered separately. I got the info that it is probably from the heart inside so other complete valve is the solution.

If it was the piece from 5, 9, 14, 11, 12 on the photo then I can order that part only and replace and that is it. It is found inside number 9 hole.
If it is piece from inside middle block then whole valve must be replaced. Simple as that for someone with a brain.

I have John Deere 6520 on which TLS most times lies flat down or sometimes after minute goes up and down.
We were sure it was sensor so we replaced TLS position sensor, calibrate it and also replaces rubber seals on one shock valve or how it is called, it has one white plastic and 5-6 rubber seals. Then sometimes it works good but then suddenly it lifts up and goes down.

When we removed that valve this is what came out. Since that whole piece cost arm&leg does anyone have idea where this piece came from ? Maybe I can buy just that valve where this broke off and repair it ? Tractor is sold so I must repair it but not buy whole damn block

Thanks a lot

Hi there…did you get this sorted…I’ve just found the same part in my relief valve and don’t know where it goes!

Hi all...
I dislike a hijacked thread as much as anyone. However, this is exactly what I've found in a 6420S, TLS valve this week.
I actually know where it goes and rather than put it back and risk it sneaking out again, I installed a version made from a roll pin.
So, I cleaned and made free all the valves, 2 of which I had to punch out. Confident it was a fix, I put it back on the tractor........
.......... Disappointingly, it sits on the axle stops when the engine is started. If I dead end an SCV it lifts to centre. I have gauges in the system and LS test ports. I have 90 bar system and 60 bar LS while it tries to lift for the first minute. Dead ending during this minute is the time to centre it....
What am I missing??

Think LS check valve. Not repairable I think. Replace the valve.

Biggest part is you cant tell how much is missing etc. From memory its from one of the side ports.

It's one of 2 check valves embedded in the valve block during manufacture. I have the ball back in place with a roll pin to hold it in place. It's not LS but a one way check at the bottom of the

pressure regulating valve, which also had a failed O-ring..
I was very optimistic for a fix. However things are looking bleak,,, ☹️
This is where the square bit goes, with room for the ball to move. I wonder if it should have a spring, There's little room for a spring though..

Do you know a weaker that might let you disassemble a known good valve?. Probably the only way you can copy and see what's broken and missing. We only see the destroyed parts usually.

Unfortunately not. This is a customer tractor. The time on it has got out of hand already. I'm going to put it back in now, if it still doesn't work, it's new valve time. It's expensive, but so is time...
Thanks for the opinions though 🙂

A little update to this...
I regassed the 3 accumulators first as they were low on pressure. Then took the valve block out..
I had to punch the preload valve and part of the electro-hydraulic control valve out. After cleaning all the parts with very fine wet n dry paper.. Then, washed out with the steam cleaner and blown out with compressed air. I put it all back together, Including fitting the loose check valve back in. It still sat at the bottom. So, out and to bits again. Everything checked against the Tech manual and parts pages. I even checked the oil lines back to the pump.. I'm sure everything is correct.
Now, it works when I dead end an SCV momentarily, it goes to centre. It'll stay centred when parked all weekend. I've driven it 2 miles today. No lights, no error codes and still centred when I got back
I think I'll send it back to work and see how it goes. It's perhaps a 90% fix.. We may still need a new valve Assy..
